Your discussion about racing is very very similar to my feelings about studying. (esp that photo). Also, I would like to point out that I have a "REMEMBER THE MARATHON RUNNER" poster, given to me by my school dean, in re: studying. So my point is that even though I am not a marathon runner, I understand even though the two activities are not even sort of the same. except for the mental motivation that goes into it.
